Estate planning API for professional firms

API access comes with selected professional plans, and you mint your own keys. Mint a personal API key from your professional dashboard and call the API with it as a bearer token. There is no application process. The getting-started guide walks through the first call.

Yes. The professional API is live: it returns your practice profile, appointments, client approaches, a matter index and engagement-letter status, keeps your own systems in step with incremental sync and bulk export, and it creates will drafts for your own clients. Everything apart from will creation is read-only.

You can create will drafts for your own active clients, check their generation status and cancel a generation that has not finished. Nothing else changes data: there are no update or delete routes, and no routes that add clients, matters or appointments. Will creation is a plan feature: your developer dashboard offers the will-creation scope only while your plan includes it. The getting-started guide covers the request format.

Rate limits are set by your plan and resolved server-side, so your own limit is shown on your developer dashboard rather than quoted here. If you exceed one, the request returns a 429 response carrying a Retry-After header and a wait_time value, so your client can back off precisely.

Webhook delivery is a separate plan feature from API access. It covers appointments created, rescheduled and canceled, engagement letters signed, approaches and messages received, clients added and withdrawn, will status changes and review requests, invoices issued and paid, complaints opened, matter tasks falling due, and partner referrals starting and completing a will. The webhook events reference lists the payload each one carries.

The professional surface publishes its own machine-readable OpenAPI schema and an interactive explorer, both reachable from your developer dashboard once your plan includes API access. Changes are recorded in the API changelog.
