- Your calendar is now connected and will sync automatically
Sync Direction
Choose how appointments flow between Expat183 and your calendar.
Inbound Only
Appointments from your external calendar are imported into Expat183. Changes made in Expat183 are not pushed back to your external calendar.
Outbound Only
Appointments made in Expat183 are pushed to your external calendar. Events from your external calendar are not imported. This requires additional permissions for your calendar account.
Bidirectional
Appointments sync in both directions. Changes in either calendar are reflected in the other. This requires additional permissions for your calendar account.
Reconnection Required
If you switch from Inbound Only to Outbound Only or Bidirectional sync, you may need to reconnect your calendar to grant the additional permissions required to write to it.
Testing Your Sync
Verify that your calendar sync is working correctly.
After setting up outbound or bidirectional sync, use the “Test Sync” button to create a test event in your external calendar. If the test event appears, your sync is working correctly.
- Use "Sync Now" to trigger an immediate sync (auto-sync must be enabled first)
- Use "Test Sync" to verify that events reach your external calendar; it appears only when your sync direction is Outbound Only or Bidirectional, auto-sync is on, and no reconnection is needed
- Check the sync status badge and the "Last synced" line for any errors
