Types of Contact Information
Your application includes several different contact types, each serving a different purpose.
Application Contacts
Internal OnlyYour primary contact details for Expat183 to communicate with you about your application. These details are never shown publicly in the directory.
Office Contacts
Internal OnlyContact details for each office, used by our team when we need to reach that location. Your directory listing shows the office name, address and the jurisdictions it serves, but not its email address or phone number: clients get in touch through the contact buttons on your profile instead.
Contact Persons
Shown Only to Clients Who Engage YouNamed individuals at each office for specific purposes. Contact persons are optional and are added once your offices exist, from the manage view of your profile rather than during the application. They are available to individual and organisation profiles alike, though they are most useful to larger firms.
Public vs Internal
It’s important to understand which contact details are visible to the public and which are kept private.
Public (Shown in Directory)
No contact details of any kind are published on your directory listing. What visitors see is your office name, address, office type and the jurisdictions it serves, alongside your regulatory information.
Prospective clients reach you through the contact buttons on your profile, so enquiries come to you through the platform rather than by an address scraped from a page.
Internal and gated
Application contacts and office contacts are only visible to Expat183 staff, for administrative purposes such as application processing, compliance matters, and billing.
Your personal email and phone number are released to a client once they engage your services, as are the names of your contact persons.
Best Practices
For Office Contacts
- Use a professional email address (ideally your firm’s domain)
- Ensure the phone number is answered during business hours
- Consider using a general enquiries address rather than personal email
- Keep these details up to date
For Application Contacts (Internal)
- Use an email you check regularly for important updates
- Provide a phone number where we can reach you quickly if needed
- This can be different from your office contacts
For Contact Persons
- Assign appropriate staff members for each role
- The compliance contact should understand regulatory requirements
- The billing contact should have authority over payments
